100 year old man runs marathon

October 4 2011

Hundred-year-old marathoner Fauja Singh is denied a spot in the
Guinness World Book of Records. on October 16 Fauja Singh finished a marathon. Fauja Singh dose not have a birth certificate from 1911 so he has no proof that he is 100 years old. Singh has a British passport showing his date of birth as being April 1, 1911, as well as a letter from the Queen congratulating him on his 100th birthday. it took him 8 hours to cross the finish line.

~~~ i think that this old man is amazing to be running at 100 years old and i hope he continues to do this in the rest of his life.
Gay Ottawa teen kills himself because of bulling
Jamie Hubley was a 15 year old boy that lived in Ottawa and on saterday 14Th 2011 Jamie took his own life. all Jamie wanted was to be accepted. Jamie was the only gay at his high school and was mocked all the time and battled depression. "He couldn't understand why everyone would be so cruel to him about something as simple as skating". Jamie even tried to start up a ram bow club at school and raise awareness about gays in the community but only to be shut down and crushed.
~~ i think that this is a horrible story and i feel bad for Jamie , thinking that this was the only way out and that this was all he could do to escape the pain. I give my condolences to the family and hope that they can move on as soon as possible.
Quebec mom Charged with Attempted murder of children
A woman from saint-Eustache, Quebec is being accused of attempted murder of her two children. She tried to drown them then electrocute them. After the 31 year old women was sent to court they decided to run two psychological assessments to determine whether she is mentally and physically able to stand trial their father was woken up by the screams of his children stated the head of police. The woman failed to take their four year old and their six year old and after tried to take her own life but also failed to do theat. The two children and mother were taken to the hospital with no injuries but the mother did suffer with psychological distress. The mother is still waiting trial and the children are now in the car of the father.
~~ I believe that there must be something wrong with the mother if she is willing to take the lives of her two children and herself . I also feel like there is more to the story because I feel like there must have been something to make her feel this way and I'm curious to find out what that Is.
Ontario Election on Health Care
The question is "there is already limited privatization in health care would any of the party leaders consider a larger role in the private sector in healthcare delivery" Andrea Horwath leader of the New Democrat Party started the debate saying , that the health care needs a lot of improvement and by changing our priorities we can bring back our old expectations. Mrs. Horwath also wants to change the priority of people so a woman with a baby dos not need to stay for 2 days but will be treated faster. Also wanting to invest more in long term health care and home care. Wants to prevent cutting nurses, but also doesn't say anything about finding them. Next to follow was Dalton McGinty leader of the liberals. Dalton thinks that we need to hammer out a new health accorded he still wants to work within Medicare. Dalton doesn't think that there is much wrong with the healthcare as it is right now , he states that we have the shortest wait time in the country, and we also ensure that 1.3 million Ontarians have a family doctor. Dalton ends with saying that he wants to work in public health care. Last to speak in the debate was Tim Hudak. Mr.Hudak has a bit more of a personal feeling , Mr. Hudak has seen what nurses and doctors go through and he understands or so he sais. He thinks that we need to invest 6.1 billion dollars into our health care system. "Our number one priority is to support our nurses and recruit more doctors" he sais . Tim also supports long term health care. All had different ideas some similar to one another and some very different. Voting will take place on October 6th 2011.
~~~I think that this was a great question and a very important one, I'm not sure how they are all going to follow through with what they said but I really liked Andrea Horwath's point of view. Thinking more on our priorities and our needs , also I like how she is wanting to invest in long-term health care and home care. Over all this was a great debate and I'm very curious to see who will win the election.
