Ontario Election on Health Care
The question is "there is already limited privatization in health care would any of the party leaders consider a larger role in the private sector in healthcare delivery" Andrea Horwath leader of the New Democrat Party started the debate saying , that the health care needs a lot of improvement and by changing our priorities we can bring back our old expectations. Mrs. Horwath also wants to change the priority of people so a woman with a baby dos not need to stay for 2 days but will be treated faster. Also wanting to invest more in long term health care and home care. Wants to prevent cutting nurses, but also doesn't say anything about finding them. Next to follow was Dalton McGinty leader of the liberals. Dalton thinks that we need to hammer out a new health accorded he still wants to work within Medicare. Dalton doesn't think that there is much wrong with the healthcare as it is right now , he states that we have the shortest wait time in the country, and we also ensure that 1.3 million Ontarians have a family doctor. Dalton ends with saying that he wants to work in public health care. Last to speak in the debate was Tim Hudak. Mr.Hudak has a bit more of a personal feeling , Mr. Hudak has seen what nurses and doctors go through and he understands or so he sais. He thinks that we need to invest 6.1 billion dollars into our health care system. "Our number one priority is to support our nurses and recruit more doctors" he sais . Tim also supports long term health care. All had different ideas some similar to one another and some very different. Voting will take place on October 6th 2011.
~~~I think that this was a great question and a very important one, I'm not sure how they are all going to follow through with what they said but I really liked Andrea Horwath's point of view. Thinking more on our priorities and our needs , also I like how she is wanting to invest in long-term health care and home care. Over all this was a great debate and I'm very curious to see who will win the election.
Manila typhoon kills at least 16 in massive flooding
Manila was hit hard with a typhoon killing at least 16 people by flooding. Most deaths occurred in metropolitan. Solders and police work together to try to evacuate the country. As floods and high winds take over the cities. Many people are trapped and left with no were to go. This time people acted a little quicker and evacuated over 2,000 people to a elementary school with lots of their goods and pets. Typhoon Nesat hit ashore before dawn Tuesday in eastern provinces and headed inland just north of Manila with up to an inch of rain per hour, half that of the storm two years ago, said government forecaster Samuel Duran. There were over 100,000 people across the country that were moved to shelter. People are still stranded but they think the worst is now over and hope to recover from this nasty typhoon.
~~I think that people that live in Manila are very brave for living there because I hate it when it rains really hard and there are strong win
ds and for them to withstand 120 km/h winds is crazy. Im really
impressed with hoe the army and police and everyone worked together to move people and help each other to safety. In the end I hope that everything goes well for Manila
Toronto jackpot winner left $21M ticket on fridge
Craig Henshaw a 42 year old teacher from Toronto came home to a nice surprise. After coming home from a backpack trip through Europe Craig found out that he had won 21 million dollars. Before leaving for his trip Craig left some lotto tickets on his fridge to sit there for the summer, and as soon as he got home he noticed and took them in and found out he won 21 million. Craig is planning on going on another trip and traveling some more. He is also planning on giving some money to his nieces and nephews to help them with their post-secondary educations. Even though Craig has 21 million he still plans on teaching just because he loves it so much.
~~~I think this was a really cool story, it shows that anyone can win the lottery and I find it pretty cool on how even though he doesn't have to work any longer he decides he wants to just because its so fun. Also the fact that he's going to help his other family is pretty cool and generous. I hope he spends his money well

Dad's reunion with girl in U.K. 'incredible

In 2008 a young girl named Pearl Da Massa was taken from her father from the U.K and was recently found in Montreal were she was living with her mother. Henry Da Massa the girls father started a global search for the seven year old girl in 2008 setting a reward of 10,000$ for her safe return . Helen Gavaghan and pearl fled to Mexico, the U.S, Toronto, and Montreal. Helen said that the only reason they fled was because Henry Da Massa beat her and abused her but this was not proven n court because there was no hard evidence. Pearl came home in September 2011 to her father acting like any other little girl in her neighborhood
~~~ I think that this is an amazing story. how the father never gave up on finding his little girl and was willing to search the whole world to find her is amazing. i cant believe how the mother could have dont this and ran so far away just to keep her daughter. im glad that the father never gave up and found her and she is home and safe now.
